In order to give the subject some meaningful context, I believe it would serve to start a topic by initial discussing its value. After that I would run through some basic examples. I need to stress that there are no foolish questions, anything to assist a student's comprehension is important. After I've run through a few cases, I would love to have the student run through their own instance, talking to me pretending they were the tutor and I was the student.

Many studies have revealed that trying to describe an idea you have just discovered helps greatly in retention and comprehension. If I'm satisfied with their teaching, I want to check their critical thinking by setting an issue based upon whatever discovered in the lesson, however with subtle adjustments that call for the tutee to actively engage with the work, as opposed to be on "auto-pilot".

Home task will be set on the topic talked about (nothing extra extreme), as well as better lessons will be carried on addressing exam-styled questions before carrying on to the next theme.
